Project Manager III

job summary:
We have a 6 month renewable position for a Project Manager III with a client of ours in Cary, NC.











This Project Lead will support the U.S. Regional Application Development organization responsible for the development of group customer setup applications that include the Common Capability Solution (CCS), Case Definition Facility (CDF), ILINK, and SoldCase.



The Project Lead will be experienced in dealing with complex projects with the ability to drive both effective and efficient outcomes. It is expected that the Project Lead will drive these projects from original concept through final implementation and will be able to communicate with stakeholders and leaders the status of specific projects.



Summary of Responsibilities:

- Under moderate supervision, oversee small to medium sized projects or components of large projects using an Agile methodology

- Create and administer project plans and documentation in adherence with company practices and procedures

- Directly manage the development of scope, cost, and schedule of IT projects, including the establishment of reasonable deadlines and outlining the necessary steps to be taken

- Drive the breakdown of project deliverables into a series of smaller work units that conform to an Agile approach

- Proactively manage projects by properly grooming the backlog priorities and clearing obstacles before they impact the individual projects they are associated with

- Build and maintain effective communications and relationships with the project team, management, and other areas of the organization to ensure that tasks are completed in a manner that satisfies project objectives

- Address project issues as they arise and escalates as needed

- Evaluate project risks and develops appropriate mitigation plans to minimize impact

- Facilitate project meetings and keep meeting minutes

- Report on project status using defined templates



Required Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in business or computer related discipline and / or equivalent work experience

- 3+ years of working experience in IT or related experience (Must have 3+ years of experience as Scrum Master / Agile Methodologies)

- 2+ years of project management or technical lead experience

- Knowledge of project management concepts and practices

- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

- Strong written and verbal communications

Preferred Experience:

- Working towards CSM and/or PMP certification (or equivalent)

- Understanding of relationship management (internal colleagues, 3rd parties, vendors both on and off shore)

- Experience with SAFe Agile

- Experience with test-driven development

- Highly analytical and detail oriented
