job summary:
This sUAS Services Engineer will work closely with Skyward professional services team to deliver sUAS regulatory, technical, and operational, consulting services. Will be providing Drone Program Trainings in class room/in the field. -Ideal candidate will provide practical training services for small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS, commonly "drone") covering regulatory, technical, and operational knowledge for Skyward's internal and external customers in support of professional services contracts. -The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial drone operational experience. Requirements: -Must be able to travel within the USA to client training sites during the work week for up to 15 workdays a month. -Must have documented experience providing training or instruction in both a classroom and a field setting. -Must be willing to work from a standardized training methodology and present a uniform appearance. -Legally able to work within US -Current 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and responsible for renewing upon expiry -Valid driver's license, responsible for maintaining current -50+ logged hours on unmanned aircraft -Demonstrable and relevant experience in UAS industry -Experience with DJI aircraft (e.g. Phantom, Mavic, Inspire) Preferred Qualifications: -Documented 3 years experience as a commercial sUAS operator in the USA -Experience with obtaining sUAS Airspace Authorizations in the USA -Experience with obtaining waivers to 14 CFR Part 107 -Significant experience with sUAS sensor equipment such as Lidar, Thermal, etc.

responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial drone operational experience. The candidate must be able to travel within the USA to client training sites during the work week for up to 15 workdays a month. The candidate must have documented experience providing training or instruction in both a classroom and a field setting. The candidate must be willing to work from a standardized training methodology and present a uniform appearance. Target for billable hours is 90% funded by external statement of work (client funded contracts). There is no minimum guarantee of time. sUAS Training Specialist Activities: ? Develop and maintain knowledge with Skyward professional services offerings that are relevant to client sUAS training requirements. ? Become familiar with client sUAS use case, program organization, scale, and level of maturity. ? Meet with Skyward clients as part of a professional services team to understand the client sUAS training requirements. ? Become familiar with client sUAS standard operating procedures ? Work with the Skyward professional services team to specify commercial/public sUAS training events and tasks which will enable the client to meet their training requirements. ? Work with the Skyward professional services team to sequence sUAS training events and tasks into client training schedules. ? Travel to client sites (travel expenses reimbursed by Skyward) for up to 15 workdays a month to provide onsite training services. ? Provide operational support for client training (airspace authorization, equipment preparation, training site identification) ? Conduct sUAS knowledge training in a classroom, workshop, or field setting. ? Conduct hands-on sUAS practical training in a classroom, workshop, or field setting for up to 6 trainees at a time. ? Provide verbal and written feedback to client trainees regarding their performance. ? Provide feedback regarding recommend modifications to client sUAS standard operating procedures based upon interaction with the client. ? Participate in standardization training provided by Skyward. ? read and understand aviation regulatory, policy, operational requirements and reconcile them with client business needs in order to recommend best practices for the employment of sUAS Requirements: ? Documented experience providing sUAS flight training ? Experience developing training curriculum ? Proficient with sUAS mapping tools such as DroneDeploy, Pix4D, etc ? Extensive experience independent operation of sUAS in demanding environments (real time risk assessment) ? Familiar with small unmanned aircraft system operations, equipment and performance characteristics ? Able to travel (reimbursable) within the USA up to 15 workdays a month ? Available to meet with team and clients during normal working hours ? Able to join remote meetings (video web conference) from a quiet professional setting ? Willing to wear Skyward standard equipment ? Willing to use Skyward training guidelines ? Legally able to work within US ? Current 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and responsible for renewing upon expiry ? Valid driver's license, responsible for maintaining current ? 50+ logged hours on unmanned aircraft ?
