Senior Systems Engineer

job summary:
Duties and Responsibilities Manages IT infrastructure project tasks as assigned and related ongoing support Participates on project teams for large IT infrastructure project initiatives and periodically takes a lead project role Defines and updates departmental documentation for application, systems and network architectures. Provides customer liaison role for day-to-day support activities Writes business correspondence for recommendations, project support, and customer service purposes Work with Project Managers to develop project scopes, estimates, milestones, and timelines. Act as technical resource for all assigned project work Act as technical escalation point for complex support issues As assigned, implement and maintain computer systems to meet the organization's current and future requirements. Daily administration and oversight of the network and computer systems. This includes the creation, deletion, and maintenance of user accounts, mailboxes, distribution lists, groups and all associated security parameters. Assist in the management and maintenance of the company's Virtualization environment. Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve system problems, performance issues, and computer resource allocation. \ Professionally represent the Engineering & Operations department as a technical consultant on projects assigned. Maintain as necessary project plans and documentation of system builds and modifications. Research, identify, and evaluate new products and services within the IT field. Provide technical assistance and mentoring to technical team members to increase skill sets and understanding of data, systems, and architectural design. Interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and contract consultants. Maintain a good working knowledge of the current industry standard server operating systems and major applications, for example MS Exchange Complete administratio

  • Responsible for development and documentation of corporate policies and procedures as related to network, system, and device use and security.
  • Provide second level help desk support. This requires resolution of user and network issues beyond the first level help desk expertise or security capabilities.
  • To perform maintenance on production systems, devices, and equipment.
  • Remain abreast of emerging and evolving technologies within systems and networks to assist in setting strategic direction of the core service offerings for the firm.
  • Working with the team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company. Migrating complex, multi-tier applications on cloud platforms.
  • Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
