Our client has a permanent opportunity for Business Process Analyst a in Sacramento, CA.

The works with teams to derive the requirements that will become technology requirements to provide a comprehensive solutions. The actively listens, feeds back information creatively, and aligns and technical teams to an understandable set of detailed solution requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes necessary investigation, analysis, and evaluation to determine project feasibility; helps to develop project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth including the development of alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or equipment installations, or change to existing ones
  • Notifies stakeholders the appropriate people on the implications of existing IT systems that can be applied to a problem; develops and/or evaluates previously refined data and programs and select from a range of alternatives to determine the appropriate action to be taken
  • Receives only general supervision; carries out routine duties independently; uses appreciable originality on system assignments; discusses or seeks approval on complex matters
  • Helps predict resource needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, etc.
  • Develops or helps in the development of work plans, task sequencing, and the extent to which tasks may be performed concurrently; develops time schedules, conversion, and test procedures for all aspects of system, from manual handling through computer processing; suggests plans for user and resource approvals; develops project plans and schedules
  • Suggests IT equipment needed for solution of the problem; modifies systems designs to take maximum advantage of existing equipment resources
  • Specifies the number and kinds of records, files and/or documents to be used; examines charts and/or diagrams of the problem to be programmed and defines system requirements in terms of equipment capabilities
  • Plans independently the full range of programming actions needed to achieve desired end results on complex problems; analyzes and suggests system development tasks; checks, instructs, assigns work, and otherwise functionally directs lower level people; performs programming activities as required
  • Maintains contact within the IT organization, with systems and programming personnel, with IT managers, at all organizational levels, and with technology vendors; keeps up periodic contact with internal customers using IT services and executives in charge of the key units using IT services
  • Aids in the development and implementation of major systems structures which will provide a solid foundation for well written and reliable application programs
Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in computer science, information technology, or related field from four-year college or university; and three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's in Administration (M.B.A.) or similar master's degree is preferred.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Must be able to operate a personal computer and other various standard office machines and equipment necessary to complete duties. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of software system preferred, but not required.
  • Additional Industry Experience: Preferred experience working on e-commerce and digital strategies and solutions, and experience with the intelligence/data analytics.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver's license required.
