Lead Instructional Designer

job summary:
JOB SUMMARY

The Lead/Sr. Instructional Designer is responsible for the end-to-end design and build of learning interactions within our clients sales training programs. In this role you will produce a variety of learning interactions: e-Learn, ILT or online, to enable a specific learning experience that reinforces business-centric behavior requirements.

You will collaborate with business partners and other leaning professionals to develop learning solutions. As well as participate in collaborative design sessions with Subject matter Experts to understand the business and learning requirements.

You will insure the learning solutions are engaging, memorable and effective. Working with the training delivery team, you'll validate that the learning solutions created deliver the intended learning experience. As a Lead Designer you will act as curriculum design subject matter expert.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

  • Create learning solutions that are innovative, highly engaging, and that utilize the most advanced techniques and technology available, with a demonstrable impact on business results
  • Create quality learning solutions designed for self-guided (eLearning) consumption or Instructor Lead Training (ILT) materials for trainers to meet the needs of the supported audience
  • Apply modern adult learning techniques to support classroom, virtual and online learning with guidance from the Manager Curriculum Development.
  • Apply business skills to managing projects and coordinating with subject matter experts while building learning solutions
  • Act as curriculum design subject matter expert to include providing feedback to other curriculum developers and training delivery instructors
  • Maintain accurate status of projects, milestones, and tasks in the team project tracking tool
  • Adhere to defined processes and standards established within L&D
  • Support team processes and standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability and experience creating content for Self-Guided Training (elearning) or Instructor Lead Training (ILT) using one of the following digital learning technologies: Articulate, Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to execute direction/feedback regarding inputs into a modern facilitated learning interaction that is aligned to design principles
  • Demonstrated understanding of how different roles within a business need tailored learning
  • Ability to show good judgment, take initiative, and make decisions to accomplish job duties
  • Demonstrate an ability to work closely with peers to ensure successful learning outcomes
  • Skilled in multimedia curriculum development, as well as graphic design, video editing, and animation
  • Driven, focused, and oriented to the functional design
Education

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Communications, or related field required and/or certifications in a variety of Learning & Development areas

Master's Degree in Adult Learning or related field, preferred not required

Related Work Experience

7+ years Instructional Design and development experience
