Randstad Technologies is currently seeking a talented Scrum Master to join a well-known client of ours within a location in the Portland, OR area.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master that is very agile. Our teams are currently moving from a waterfall methodology to more agile. We'd like someone with experience in transforming teams to an agile world. This may mean coaching and educating others on how Scrum works. We are a healthcare company in the Claims and Provider data management BIO. We have a really talented diverse team including Java, Informatica, .NET, SQL Server, Oracle, perl, and many more technologies that we support.

responsibilities:
  • Manage and facilitate delivery within an iteration
  • Work with Product Managers/Project Managers on overall timeline
  • Track daily team progress - story status, velocity, board
  • Projects team capacity
  • Track Product Manager story readiness (e.g. stories ready to play)
  • Raise relevant issues to pertinent parties, such as Project Manager, Technical Manager, Product Manager etc.
  • Own project burn ups/metrics (velocity tracking/forecasting)
  • Team support (focused on removing internal blockers)
  • Facilitate intra-team communication
  • Manage storyboard and story management tool
  • Facilitate all iteration planning sessions, story time, iteration open/close, and daily stand-up meetings
  • Facilitate retrospectives (team alternates each retro)
  • Promote team building/team accountability
  • Facilitate team "norming " sessions
  • Create iteration open/close deck
  • Work with team to ensure process quality and continual improvement
  • Encourage Self Empowered teams

qualifications:
  • Prior experience in fast-paced Agile environment is critical to planning and overseeing day-to-day development activities, managing work against competing deliverables
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information systems, Engineering, Computer applications or applicable work experience
  • 2-3 years successful experience using Agile framework, preferably in role of Iteration Manager
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • 1+ years practical experience in software development is helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, high energy, and enthusiasm
  • SAFE certification with hands-on knowledge
  • Flexible work and leadership style to maximize team performance
  • High level of technical familiarity with distributed systems and web technologies

  • Excellent communicator
  • Subject matter expertise in retail/eCommerce is a plus
  • Superb communication skills and presentation skills will be integral to conducting iteration planning meetings, hosting demonstrations, and facilitating retrospectives with team members and stakeholders alike
