Security Operations Manager

job summary:
The Security Manager/Operations Consultant is a member of Global Corporate Security Operations team and will be based out of a vendor location supporting a project.

This person will be responsible and accountable for monitoring the Physical and Logical controls implemented at the dedicated Secure Work Space at the vendor facility and for evaluating the efficacy of these controls periodically. You will be performing audits to confirm they are complying with the rules they agreed upon like no outside devices like cell phones, thumb drives and laptops.

This person will conduct regular audits of security records and procedures to ensure that processes are being enforced 100% of the time. They will identify vulnerabilities and address any issues. Must have: Investigations and Fraud Prevention.

Must have an in depth knowledge concerning investigative techniques including interviewing techniques, general laws of evidence, statement formats and data collection to ensure that all investigations are conducted in a professional, ethical and legal manner.

Principal Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct reviews of the physical security controls in place at client's dedicated space within a vendor facility and identify vulnerabilities in the overall security infrastructure in place.

2. Conduct regular audits of security records and procedures to ensure that processes are being enforced.

3. Conduct investigations for reported possible violations and security breaches.

4. Perform Event/ Security Log Monitoring, Session Monitoring and carry out reviews of all laid down physical and logical security control processes.

5. Assess risks and suggest effective controls to protect client initiatives/projects

6. Draw up test procedures to assess the effectiveness of the security controls in place.

7. Report findings to the respective stakeholders and follow up on them for timely remediation/closure.

8. Create and publish metrics and present the same to both the stakeholders and management

9. Conduct awareness sessions for the vendor resources. It must include awareness on Security policies and other security related industry best practices.

10. Collaborate with business and support teams and work towards ensuring the required processes are in place from a risk and compliance standpoint.

Qualifications & Experience: (E - Essential; D - Desirable)

1. Investigations and Fraud Prevention. Must have an in depth knowledge concerning investigative techniques including interviewing techniques, general laws of evidence, statement formats and data collection to ensure that all investigations are conducted in a professional, ethical and legal manner.

(E) 2. Security Audit/Review. Must have an in depth knowledge in the conduct of security and project reviews

(E) 3. Security Monitoring. Must have an in depth knowledge and a good working experience in carrying out security monitoring using tools like Observe IT.

(E) 4. Physical Security Must display a demonstrated understanding of the security standards applied to dedicated spaces within a vendor location.

Must have a working knowledge on various access control (electronic and non-electronic) and alarm monitoring systems in the market.

(E) 5. Security Risks Management Must display a demonstrated understanding of security risk management, particularly in the area of handling crisis situations, (D) 6 Logical & Physical Controls Management.

Must have an in depth knowledge in monitoring and reviewing the logical and physical controls in place and ensure that they are in accordance to the laid down Verizon standards.

(E) 7. Communications Skills Must have fluent verbal and written communications skills in English (E)

8. Managerial Skills. Must demonstrate a capacity to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate capacity to exercise judgment and act decisively on own authority.

(E) Educational Qualification and Skill Sets. 1. Bachelor's Degree (E) 2. 3 to 5 years of experience in Physical Security, Insider threat or related Security discipline(E) 3. Certification in CPP, PSP, CISA, CISSP or CISM (D) 4. ISO 27001 Certification (D)
