Front Office Commodities Developer

job summary:
Join a Global Technology team and work in our risk management development team.

In this role, you'll work side-by-side with our Front office businesses and interact with our stakeholders daily. We'll be looking for you to bring proven problem-solving skills, software development expertise and an avid interest in financial markets.

Your key responsibilities will be to further develop the core risk management systems, specifically how it applies to fixed income and commodity financial products. You'll develop, upgrade, test and support this system to cater for new features, technologies and upcoming changes in the industry. In addition, you'll contribute to end-to-end requirements gathering from the business and other support areas.

You'll also contribute to supporting the framework, responding to business inquiries regarding calculations observed in various finance and risk modules. By looking to improve our delivery, you'll work on automating daily processes and helping to improve efficiency of existing processes through new technology.

In order to be successful, you'll have:

  • solid experience in C++ and/or python or any scripting language
  • understanding of data structures, Object Oriented programming and Unix OS fundamentals
  • strong analytical and programming skills
  • comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels
  • Financial markets knowledge
Attention to details and follow through is key as this is a client facing business.

Experience Required:

C++ and Python is a must. A familiarity with real time systems is important as well. Expect to encounter questions such as multi-threading, stateful sessions, messaging, interfaces, synchronization, persistence and other topics that would be key on a trading application.
