Business Intelligence Engineer

job summary:
Seeking candidates with skills in coding (Python, SQL). Candidate will be working with Stars business partners and analytics partners to develop marketing performance reporting, analytics and insights. Must have excellent communication skills and problem solving skills.

The Business Intelligence Engineer will develop data and analytic solutions that empower Stars operational and strategic decision makers to implement strategies and initiatives for improving the health and well-being of Medicare members. The associate in this role will deliver exceptional customer service and consulting in order to understand, make recommendations, and solve business problems using data and analytics.

responsibilities:
- Develop a deep knowledge of Medicare Stars program and quality measures (HEDIS, Patient Safety, others as needed)

- Consult with customers to understand their data needs and/or business questions

- Consult with data source providers and IT partners to bring together a deep understanding and ensure the integrity of Stars campaign data sources for performance reporting

- Perform detailed analyses of measure snapshot changes so as to continuously improve measure behavior knowledge and the quality of measure snapshot data

- Bring measure and data source knowledge to collaborate with others in the continuous improvement of customer data applications

- Creation and maintenance of automated data checks for Stars measure data sources

- Exploration and qualification of new data sources and new technologies

- Maintenance and enhancements for the automation of Stars campaign performance report application

- Documentation of processes surrounding data quality and integrity checks

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or similar fields

- strong technical understanding of data architecture, data quality and related technologies along with data quality management principles

- 1+ years of data mining, manipulation, cleaning and technical analysis

- 1+ years of experience in SQL, SAS, Python, or other data systems tools

- Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis

- Familiarity with a data quality, analytics and reporting tools and techniques

- Advanced Research Problem-Solving skills

- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint)

- Experience in communicating insights for both technical and non-technical customers

- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
