Game System Designer needed for Contract Opportunity with Randstad Technologies client in Redmond, WA

Our client, is the creator of an award-winning AAA game. This team is the engagement team. They work on live gaming events and across the entire franchise. This team is focused more on making sure there is a strategic and practical plan for live events.

As a Game Designer, you will work as part of the creative core responsible for crafting experiences for existing and new titles within the franchise. You will be working with released and unreleased content and features. Your work will range from hands on design of system and experiences, to execution of live events using proprietary tooling, to research and design support for experiences being built by our team. To be successful in this role, you will need a solid understanding of game design fundamentals critical to the creation of compelling experiences. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, a strong problem-solver, a quick learner, organized and efficient. The understanding of deep game mechanics, creative best practices and the ability to implement work using multiple technical tools is essential for success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work effectively with the Design Director, Producer, and any other key leads to determine project design specifications and to ensure successful product execution.
  • Create and refine clear and concise design documentation for key systems in support of existing titles as well as titles in development
  • Utilize a data driven design approach including experience tuning and refining systems towards clear usability goals.
  • Utilize team feedback, data analysis, and user research feedback into clear actionable items to improve products and design processes.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience with game progressions and economy
  • Excellent communication skills (may need to do some presentations)
  • Comfortable with Progression systems, numbers, data, tools, etc
  • Passion for the gaming industry and an understanding of market trends and styles is a must.
  • Have a proactive work ethic, capable and creative problem solver who is not afraid of big challenges.
  • Experience doing rapid prototyping
  • Have great attention to detail and an ability to multitask.
  • Adept at working with multiple proprietary and technical systems/tools.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years Game System Design experience.
  • Understanding of market trends and styles is a must.
  • Experience with Progression systems, progression models, retention models, game design spreadsheets
  • Experience with tools such as Unreal Blueprints, prototyping tools, etc
