job summary:
As a member of the National Information Technology (IT) team, the Information Technology Solutions Architect (Flexible Location/NYC or Boston Preferred) is responsible for designing solutions to business challenges using technology. They will drive continuous process and solution improvements across multiple technology platforms (including Salesforce) and ecosystems for the organization as a whole.

The Information Technology Solutions Architect (Flexible Location/NYC or Boston Preferred) will have the opportunity to identify, assess, and solve complex business problems for their area of responsibility - where analysis of situations or data require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Working within the strategic direction set by the senior management team, this person will have some latitude in decision-making and act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

  • Ownership of high-level solution and delivery of solutions to clients
  • Work with off-shore team for solution architecture, estimates, delivery etc.
  • Drive business requirements translation into a technical solution
  • Participate and contribute in design sessions, and suggest design alternatives as needed
  • Gather and articulate non-functional requirements
  • Review business, function, and technical requirements
  • Create key architecture documentation and deliverables
  • Lead team of other architects where required to deliver best solution to client
  • Work with other architects to fulfill end to end solution delivery, taking full responsibility of solution
  • Update management team on overall project, including risks, technology issues, and proposed suitable alternatives
Information Technology Team Member

  • Provide input into hiring decisions
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching for other team members for professional and career development
Site Team/Learning Community Member

  • Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings

  • Information Technology infrastructure and cloud development background preferred
  • 6-9 years of related professional and technical experience
  • 3-5 years of experience managing and supporting technology solutions
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator certificate required
  • Deep analytical skills
  • Periodic travel may be required up to 10% annually
  • Strong consultative and interpersonal skill to build partnership & manage engagements with business and Information Technology
  • Strong organizational skills and process-oriented mindset
  • Experience working with business executives and stakeholders to develop and document business needs and turn into effective solutions
  • Skilled at translating technical jargon into terms business users can understand
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage time and workload on multiple projects/initiatives
  • Knowledge of technology industry best practices and trends
  • Strong business process analytical skills, team building, and communications skills
  • Knowledge of Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile Methodology and able to work with each methodology
  • Skilled at influencing others to achieve results; proactive, responsive, and results-driven
  • Ability to respectfully challenge the status quo to help drive continuous improvement
  • Comfort with change in a fast moving environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
