Sr. Scrum Master

job summary:
Responsible for managing and evolving Scaled Agile portfolios of the highest complexity. Facilitates the scrum process on scrum teams with significant cross-functional impacts involving project, nonproject, or maintenance work. Guides the scrum team(s) and organization to follow generally accepted Agile/Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint. Uses empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum Maturity , optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance. Proactively addresses systemic impediments to team agility and guides the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers. Coaches scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met. Partners with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards. Partners with Product Owner(s) to ensure continuous refinement of backlog, which may include stories from multiple projects. Completion of some work may depend on non-agile work teams. Facilitates Scrum of Scrums. May train other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced team members. Drives Scrum adoption across all levels in the organization. Facilitates and is accountable for owning the Scrum and/or Scaled Agile ceremonies for the scrum team(s). Partners with Product Owners, Program or Project Managers to communicate delivery of work product from the scrum team(s) and escalates key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness. Identifies skills & competencies of scrum team members & makes adjustments accordingly to promote development and highly effective teams.

Required Qualifications: 6+ years of experience as a practicing Scrum Master

Additional Job Requirements

·In addition to providing technical coaching, coaching Agile best practices, hands-on facilitation of PI planning, e2e mapping, and have a working knowledge of setting up Customer Journeys, Value Streams, ARTs and SAFe, this candidate will help formulate, implement, and practice set standards and capabilities across Agile best practices and CI/CD (TDD, BDD, Automation, etc.) and collaborate with partner Agile transformation programs. Must possess a fundamental understanding of branch strategy including feature vs. release type and have working experience in an Agile Enterprise environment and initiatives using Agile and Waterfall simultaneously. Engineering experience desired. The candidate will

o Coach Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban)

o Partner with other Agile transformation programs

o Contribute content to TMPS Technology Agile Transformation Governance via excellent technical writing

o Configure and manage Confluence and Jira dashboards, backlogs, tagging; must be an expert in scaled team Jira implementation and pipeline creation and implementation

o Lead onshore and/or offshore scrum teams, carry out scrum and Kanban ceremonies

o Lead PI planning, scrum of scrums sessions

o Assist in the creation of an Agile Release Train, integration with SAFe, LeSS, and/or Nexus

o Lead and/or teach Agile remote training sessions/brown bags.

o Help stand up an Agile Guild

o Use video conferencing regularly (appear in front of a camera)

·Enterprise experience, Banking experience preferred

·Scaled Agile experience a must: (e.g.: SAFe, LeSS, Scaled Scrum)

·Proven effective experience managing large-scale projects/initiatives/value streams

·Hands on Jira experience for scaled initiatives

·Relevant certifications (would like one or more):

o Certified SAFe® Program Consultant

o Certified SAFe® Agilist

o Certified SAFe® Scrum Master

o Certified ScrumMaster®

o Professional Scrum Master™

o Professional Scrum Product Owner™

o Project Management Professional®

·Technical knowledge/experience: software development would be preferred but examples would be automation, QA Engineering, TDD, BDD, DB, microservices, mainframe, etc. Must understand branching, deployments, etc. not hands on but managing experience

·Good/great technical writing skills

·Self-starter/driver personality

·Extremely organized, detail-oriented, project/program planning skill set would be nice

·Excellent communication skills, comfortable in front of camera

·Able to work multiple time zones (US + India)
