Accessibility Specialist (2 Openings) - SF, Minne, CLT, Remote

job summary:
Role: Accessibility SME partnering closely with Design teams

Project:

  • They will be assigned an application where they will start by working with the designers to implement accessibility functionality. They will then create the specs and answer questions from development about the specs. They will also be the point person for QA when questions and changes are needed.
  • Looking for someone with experience working with designers to ensure that the application they are designing meets accessibility standards. They are also responsible for inddetifying gaps in accessibility in these apps and helping with remediation.
  • Testing is a small part of what they do, usually ad-hoc, since they have a QA department that handles most of the testing for them.
Must haves:

  • primary need is working with the designers to ensure these new apps are accessible; working on the pre-implementation side, prototyping, working with designers - not as much on the testing side
  • Knowledge of WCAG (web content accessibility guidelines) Understand the intersection between the design and development for accessibility Ability to interface with designers, QA, and business partners
  • Someone that has experience with making accessible e-docs, like Word, PDF, Excel, etc.
Nice to have:

  • remediating and testing PDFs (secondary need), word docs, excel
  • Any certs from IAAP - (CPACC; WAS)
  • technical/development skills
