Our client is looking for a Contract to Hire Systems Admin for an opening in Roseville, CA.

Position Overview:

Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, access, and backup for enterprise wide systems. Technologies supported include operating systems, servers, networks, system security, hardware and other software applications. Troubleshoot system issues, resolve or recommend solutions. Create and manage system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures. Facilitate system patches and updates as needed. Participate in the definition and implementation of system components including new servers, hardware, software and upgrades. Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot operating systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Respond to requests and resolve technical issues encompassing hardware, software and networking within established SLA by providing remote and onsite support to provide technical assistance and support to ensure service availability

- Track all work in ticketing system to ensure accurate and up-to-date accounts of all troubleshooting steps and follow-up details

- Strict adherence to the use of our ticketing system for ALL incidents, changes, problems, and communication with end users and stakeholders

- Escalate issues that cannot be resolved and work collaboratively with IS engineering staff to determine and resolve issues - Provide support, system administration with SCCM including managing, coordinating and implementing software upgrades, patches and hotfixes for workstations and network hardware for APM's computing environments.

- Administration of servers, network resources, and telephony systems to ensure availability of services to authorized users when necessary

- Experience with windows server administration - Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS, DNS, DHCP, SSH, TCP/IP, SFTP. NIS, SMB, Apache and NetApp. Knowledge on Windows 7/10 and Windows Server as well as virtualization technologies like KVM and VMWare

- Maintain and support mission critical frontend and back-end production environments such as O365, Fuze, ESET, SCCM and VMServer farm

- Knowledge and experience with cloud infrastructure implementation and administration both on enduser (VDaaS) and infrastructure (Azure).

- Knowledge to create images, support VMs, manage cloud components like ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, management software.

- Familiar in installing, developing and maintaining VM's with experience in designing IT workflows and automation with scripting/programming

- Provide input on the stability, security, efficiency and scalability of systems in all environments

- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

- May serve as Technical Lead on IS technology related projects which can include developing technical requirements documenting proper design, updating all required documentation for in-flight projects and ensuring documentation deliverables at project closure as well as the creation and maintenance of job aids and/or knowledge articles

- Documentation creation and maintenance of job aids and/or knowledge articles

- Participation in on-call schedule rotation

- Other duties as assigned by IS management

Required Skills

- At least 5 years of Systems Administration experience preferably in a financial related industry

- Experience with remote management and monitoring (RMM) tools such as Labtech/Automate, SolarWinds, RSAT and Dameware

- Familiarity with mySQL, SQL or similar RDBMS

- Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management

- Experience with development and infrastructure automation tools

- Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTPS, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP

- Must have excellent problem-solving capability

- strong problem solving and communication skills

- Superior organizational skill and attention to detail

- strong change management, standard procedural and documentation skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience developing and delivering presentations and reports.

- Able to work independently and, also as part of a broader, distributed team

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
