Sr. Information Security Engineer

We have a direct FTE role for a Senior Info Sec Security Engineer with a client of ours in Cary, NC.

The Sr. Information Security Engineer position is responsible for assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and automating of cybersecurity policies and controls across the Mediant enterprise to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all company assets. This position coordinates directly with infrastructure and engineering teams to evaluate cyber risks, advise on best practices, and automate controls to prevent, identify, and remediate threats. This position will also have duties for active threat hunting across the Enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, implementing, administering, monitoring, and maintaining security architecture technology processes and solutions
  • Serves as a senior technical resource for other members of the Information Security team
  • Monitoring network, systems, and logs to ensure availability to all systems
  • Automation of threat analysis protocols across the enterprise
  • Manage the identification and response of security incidents
  • Execute and interpret vulnerability scans and or penetration tests
  • Active Threat Hunting across the entire Enterprise
  • Keeping abreast of the latest security issues and briefing senior staff of emerging threats

  • 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity: application security, cloud security, data and network security
  • Design, build and maintain tools/processes to effectively secure our enterprise network, computing, and AWS environments
  • Office 365, Exchange DLP and Azure AD security administration and information protection
  • Experience with SIEM/SOAR solutions utilizing predictive ML/AI
  • Advanced networking and firewall administration with a focus on network security
  • IT, endpoint security, and DLP in a regulated environment, e.g., SOC, ISO 27001
  • Malware and phishing incident response and remediation
  • Experience interpreting vulnerability scan and or penetration test results and prioritizing remediation planning
  • Linux/Unix with system administration and task automation
  • Development experience with Python, Bash, or equivalent
  • Experience working in the financial services industry
  • Experience with IR or cyber security event management and containment

  • Ability to travel, and work off hours, after hours and serve on rotational, 24x7 on-call basis required
  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Education: Bachelors (required)
  • SECURITY ENGINEER (5 years of experience is required)
