job summary:
The Project Management Office (PMO) ensures the success of various business projects are being executed effectively and efficiently. The PMO develops and maintains project management methodologies, standards, and tools. As Director of the PMO you are responsible in maintain the successful project delivery of individual teams, record improvements to management practices, focus on team development strategies, and serve as a leader for the overall execution of the business priorities and initiatives.

responsibilities:
The Director of PMO oversees the people who lead internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with internal customers to determine project definition and business requirements. Provides budget analysis, resource allocation and coordination of project activities that may be across functional areas within the organization. Assigns and monitors work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget. Monitors reliability and any internal issues that appear because of the project. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside cross-functional teams (internal and external) to meet project deadlines
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project plans
  • Translate project statuses into executive dashboard-style reporting
  • Proactively communicate project expectations, statuses, and metrics to all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management strategies as required and take necessary risk mitigation steps
  • Provide management oversight for the request for proposal (RFP) process
  • Schedule and participate in all meetings and maintain responsibility for reporting project statuses
  • Independently manage or lead strategy development for projects in any phase of development
  • Manage team meetings including developing agendas and documenting decisions and action items
  • Identify organizational gaps and influence the project environment to address gaps that impact the project
  • Manage the planning and use of project resources and work to secure adequate resourcing and budget alignment in close collaboration with finance and functional team members
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, or relevant experience in leading and aligning multiple stakeholders to move in one direction
  • Experience of going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution
Qualifications:

  • Familiarity of commonly used project management concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to quickly understand and execute a process
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project)
  • Ability to prioritize and assign urgency accordingly to tasks/projects
  • Ability to evaluate and escalate matters on an as needed basis
  • strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated successes in working with a diverse group of team members
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or deadlines
  • Proven ability to work through and always overcome conflicts productively and while maintaining professionalism
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (with related science background and/or project management)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • 10 - 15 years' experience working as a project manager with oversight for multiple simultaneous development projects
