Graphics Designer

job summary:
This is an amazing opportunity as a The Graphic Designer / Digital Asset Specialist, where you will work closely with the Production Design and Product teams to review and load assets into a robust marketing application using InDesign and web-based applications, pre-flight, organize as well as ensure all content meets brand and technical guidelines, and assist manager in identifying and establishing production process improvement opportunities.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where tight deadlines are a constant. They should have a familiarity or background in the following areas: marketing, design concepts, data workflows, content management and digital asset technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute design solutions as directed against established creative, or repurpose existing designs and artwork for new uses
  • Upload of customizable assets into marketing applications
  • Creation of client facing page for templates through marketing application
  • Prepare production-ready files to the appropriate production specifications
  • Responsible for pre-flighting all production files assigned to ensure quality
  • Check files to ensure that all settings are correct including layer setup, alternate layouts, color, image resolution and output settings
  • Correct all inconsistencies and mistakes in the art file before its release, including typesetting revisions, scaling artwork, photo retouching, correcting vector artwork, scale, color corrections/adjustments and page sequence/imposition revisions
  • Take direction while meeting deadlines on various projects occurring at the same time
  • Work with product team/vendors to troubleshoot and problem solve production issues on files and marketing application template pages
  • Ensure all files are correct and final before archiving
  • Provide technical guidance based on project needs/complexity to meet production specifications and standards
  • Maintain and update images, photos, videos and work products in appropriate asset management system
  • Adhere to brand identity standards
  • Be an ambassador for the marketing department objectives and point of view on corporate brand and its visual identity
  • Assist manager in identifying and establishing production process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of new technology and trends in printing and digital techniques to ensure the best possible solutions for our clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge Adobe Creative Cloud software, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
  • Comfort with learning basic functions of JavaScript, XML and HTML.
  • Understanding or experience with content management and metadata
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and committed to quality control
  • Flexibility and openness to learn new concepts to apply to daily workflow
  • Process-oriented with an uncanny ability to get things done
  • Ability to project manage/traffic their own workload
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple quick turn projects
  • Proactive - anticipates needs, problems, opportunities
  • Ability to create high-quality CMYK or RGB images for print or multimedia.
  • Knowledgeable on how to troubleshoot problem art files
  • Good written, oral and listening skills and undertakes actions to develop them further
  • Effectively and professionally interacts with others
  • Maintains high quality standards despite pressing deadlines and always strives to do work right the first time
  • Provides potential solutions when presenting challenges to leadership
  • Creative at problem solving and proactively offers to help
  • Prideful and diligent in the final preparation of work including production and presentation

  • Experience working across Mac and Windows platforms
  • Sound understanding and comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any of the options below:

    • Bachelor's degree or related work experience
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional-level experience preferably in marketing or real estate
  • Samples of previous work a plus
