This position will be critical in achieving our vision of establishing predictive analytics as a competitive advantage. Work has strategic impact on potentially all functional areas including marketing, product, actuary, operations, and claims. Responsible for research and development of predictive models and analytical techniques for subjects involving insurance pure premiums, customer life time value, customer buying behaviors, retention and other related topics utilizing internal and external data. The analysis and modeling will be tested via implementation both broadly and on a pilot basis to allow us to learn and refine our approaches in rapid succession.

Responsibilities will evolve over time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Masters Degree or equivalent, related experience.

Experience: 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.

Knowledge: Extensive level of professional knowledge in field. Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Develops new applications based on professional principles. Viewed as an expert in the field within the organization.

Decision Making: Makes complex decisions interpreting company policy, for which there is no set procedure. Decisions influence success for projects of significant impact importance, client relationships, expenses and or ability to meet organizational objectives.

Supervision Received: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

Leadership: Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed. Takes a lead role in group, team or project.

Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of innovation. Ensures that solutions are effective in meeting organizational objectives. Questions problem definition to address underlying issues.

Client Contacts: Manages internal and external relationships. Represents organization as prime contact for projects and other necessary communications. Interaction may include senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring complex coordination between organizations. Communication involves persuasion and negotiation, as applicable. Seeks ways of improving client service.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Some specific college degree programs or additional course works which are a plus include Business, Accounting, or Finance. In addition, professional designations in insurance including INS, CPCU, AIC are a plus. Insurance industry experience preferred. Demonstrated mastery of the duties and responsibilities of the Project Analyst position required.

Previous project management experience is required. Previous change management experience is preferred.

Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Previous experience in varied departments including IT is a plus.

Working knowledge of various systems and platforms (V12, TronWeb, AS400) required.

Good understanding of technology with the ability to work in a team environment involving Insurance Operations and IT staff to seek out the best, cost effective solutions.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, delegate and control work.

Ability to lead a group to accomplish a common goal.

Ability to estimate, plan, track, control costs, and provide needed status reporting.

Ability to identify project risks, exposures, options and alternatives.
