Technical Product/ Project Manager

job summary:
We're looking for an experienced Technical Project/ Product Manager that can bring strong project management skills and a thorough attention to detail for an agency client. This person will be accountable for keeping projects on track and on budget with the appropriate foresight to proactively manage risks and escalate them when necessary. As a member of a larger team, this individual will need strong communications skills to ensure their team is equipped with everything they need to deliver work on time while maintaining internal productivity goals. With both internal and client-facing responsibilities, this person is expected to proactively engage in the sharing of knowledge with the larger agency, and know when to pull in various department expertise to support project decision-making. They will act as the project lead from proof of concept through to the delivery phase and will practively engage and drive technical conversations with the client. Candidates should have 3+ years of industry experience and be authorized to work in the U.S. at this time.

responsibilities:
  • Customer Advocate: Understands the needs of the client buying the product and selects a feature set that is most valuable to the end-users
  • Communicator: Communicates the vision and intent - deferring detailed feature and design decisions to be made just-in-time
  • Business Advocate: Understands the need by the organization to pay for the construction or implementation and selects a mix of features that serve their goals
  • End User Advocate: Describes the product with understanding of users and use, and a product that best serves both
  • Subject Matter Expert: Learns the domain well enough to envision a product; answers technical questions on the domain for those creating the product
  • Leads the product lifecycle process based on knowledge of business goals - serves as driver of product direction across multiple teams and verticals
  • Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and ensures a constant stream of work for the agile teams
  • Utilize data insights to drive direction and evolution of product and obtain buy in from leadership
  • Develops, owns, and executes product roadmap across multiple products
  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including epics, user stories, and acceptance test criteria
  • Work across matrix organization and other stakeholders to define and prioritize multiple team backlogs
  • Responsible for being accessible and available; actively engaged to his or her team with commitment to build the best product possible
  • strong decision-making skills based on knowledge of users and marketplace
  • Strong communication skills to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Independently develops and executes work plans for accomplishing goals
  • Anticipates, identifies and responds to problems and issues related to specific products
  • Organizes tasks in logical sequences and identifies required resources
  • Works with reporting team to develops appropriate tracking of product performance post-launch to evaluate investment

  • Experience level: Manager
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Education: Bachelors
