IT Administrator - MS Dynamics GP and MS SQL

job summary:
Our client is seeking an IT Administrator who will be responsible for helping to ensure internal and external customers get what they need, when they need it. This Individual will be a key member of the IT Team delivering a high level of customer service. While this role has a primary focus on GP and SQL, we work as a team and you will be responsible for supporting a large array of systems. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects related to GP and SQL, including routine user support, maintenance, installs, updates, patches, backups, customizations, integrations, including 3rd party GP add-ons
  • Collaborate with staff to identify business challenges, design, gather requirements, and implement related solutions
  • Proactively managing and prioritizing multiple related projects, timelines, assignments, milestones and follow-up communications
  • Create and update How-To documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Conduct end user training to migrate from a reactive model to a proactive one
  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets, to include escalation to other IT groups and external vendors
  • Work with the user community to ascertain reporting requirements, then develop proper methods for extracting and displaying the data to the user in the form of reports or dashboards
  • Develop SSIS packages and code to transfer data for reporting and integration
  • Work with others in IT to build the logical database area and provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process
  • Responsible for proactively tuning the databases to ensure proper operation of all applications
  • Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience with GP and SQL
  • 5+ years experience with Microsoft BI Environment (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI)
  • Proven experience implementing and supporting Dynamics GP and SQL
  • Experience with GP modules including, but not limited to GL, AP, AR, payroll, and inventory
  • Experience with Scribe, Crystal Reports, Management Reporter, ReportWriter, SmartList Builder, SmartConnect and Integration Manager
  • Experience with Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSRS, Power BI
  • Experience with Paramount Workplace preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Analytical aptitude, attention to detail, and superior organization and time management skills are required General knowledge of accounting principles and/or financial background
  • Relocation to San Antonio, Texas is require
Language Skills:

  • Read and interpret documents, procedure manuals and various correspondence from both internal and external parties.
  • Develop routine reports, analytics and correspondence.
Speak effectively, both individually and before groups of both external customers and/or various levels of employees within the organization.
