Mid-level IT Manager - Social and Scientific Research Projects

job summary:
Our client is seeking an IT project manager to lead the requirements, design, specification, development, and deployment of applications and systems to support social and scientific research projects for federal agencies. You will work with domain experts, program managers, and IT professionals to formulate and implement IT solutions that reflect and understanding of business issues, as well as IT strategies, problems, and priorities.

responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:

·Partner with domain staff and specialists to determine and manage the IT needs of a diverse portfolio of research projects.

·Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies and best IT practices.

·Develop technical application systems designs and approaches for proposals and projects.

·Supervise IT professionals who are well-versed in various proprietary and open source software such as web technologies, data analysis and visualization, mapping and GIS, study and operations management, and data collection modes spanning CAPI, ACASI, CATI, and IVR.

·Assist with writing and budgeting for IT activities associated with projects, tasks, and proposals.

Basic Qualifications:

- A bachelor's degree and at least 8 plus years of relevant experience, including a significant track record of managing IT tasks, is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with and knowledge in the design and analysis of social and scientific research projects.

Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, such as project management reporting, project documentation (requirements, specifications, design documents), and proposals. Demonstrated organizational proficiency, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a team environment.
