job summary:
Description:

  • This request is for a System Engineer to work on the Physical Endpoint Engineering responsible for design & build of the standard Windows image and creation of technical solutions to address endpoint production issues & security requirements.
  • Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include:
  • Determine software operating system compatibility
  • Evaluate system requirements
  • Interact with Product Managers to collect software and system requirements
  • Testing and configuration of the desktop OS (Microsoft Windows)
  • Testing and configuration of the core/requestable product applications and integration with the standard build
  • Hardware testing and configuration (desktops, laptops)
  • Develop test plans for application QA testing cycle
  • Package applications for deployment
  • Leverage deployment technologies such as: IBM TEM and MS CM
  • Conduct performance testing of core products
  • Produce performance reports.
  • Work independently without frequent instruction
Skills:

  • In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Operating System (Windows 7, Windows 10)
  • Extensive knowledge of application behavior in the Windows environment
  • Operating System and Application configuration scripting (C#, C++, .NET)
  • 5+ years' experience with desktop support
