Design, test, and implement new scripts (our internal and external toolset), and update existing ones, using Java, Python, Bash, Perl, and others. Test and debug existing and new scripts.

work hours: 8am to 5pm
Install and set up Linux systems and servers, working with internal users and customers to determine requirements, build reliable systems, and provide answers to users' questions.
Perform routine system maintenance and resolve server, OS, and application issues as they arise.
Establish processes for, and perform, system backups according to company or industry standards.
Monitor system performance to prevent slowdowns and crashes, including reviews of traffic logs and other reports.
Work with Corning software developers to ensure seamless application upgrades, reliable performance, and user-friendly interfaces for internal users as well as external customers.
Actively maintain system security by identifying and resolving faults and vulnerable areas within the system's architecture. Deploy resolutions to system issues, including those for security, across multiple servers and virtual machines. Generate back-end databases and scripts for specific server applications and use cases
Proven foundation in TCP/IP networking, experience managing virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM, oVirt).
