SR. Developer SAP ABAP

job summary:
The Sr. Developer - SAP ABAP will be responsible for the development, enhancements, troubleshooting, fixes, and ongoing maintenance of ECC and ABAP related customizations to the SAP applications which support their business areas. Position includes ongoing project-based development work, as well as day to day support of existing applications. Serve as a technical expert resource for IT Staff in other areas. Applications in the environment include core SAP ERP applications including SAP ECC version 6.0 (ep7) on HANA, with modules including SD, Vistex, MM, FI, CO and AB (Agency Business). Other SAP systems in the landscape include SAP PO, BI/BW, Portal, Gateway and Solution Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Responsible for development and ongoing maintenance/enhancements of business systems.
  • Analyze business requirements, review existing systems, define the solution, and translate that into detailed programming designs.
  • Take detailed programming designs and perform the development required to translate them into efficient and accurate code.
  • Perform Unit testing, Integration testing and Regression testing during the various phases of the project or enhancement. Also able to prepare for and conduct user acceptance test sessions with business end users, demonstrating how the solution meets their requirements.
  • Prepare project related documentation (functional design, technical design, test scripts) during the appropriate stages of a project or enhancement.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders possessing various levels of technical knowledge. Ability to determine the underlying issue when presented with sometimes ambiguous and/or contradictory information; demonstrate good listening skills.
  • Quickly solve/determine problems working with technical/non-technical groups in areas that may not be primary area of expertise.
  • Take the lead in managing ECC related projects. Lead initial discussion, requirements definition, design processes, as well as actual development of the solution.
  • Participate in SAP License audit cycles, conducting quarterly reviews of SAP userids and counts with management, preparing and submitting the annual SAP user license submissions (USMM, SLAW) and maintaining these on Sharepoint, working with Help Desk and AMS Basis to maintain and update user types, and help maintain entries in SAP Service Marketplace
  • Day to day support, administration and maintenance as Level 2 or 3 support for reported issues with assigned application areas/systems.
  • Support IT Help Desk and business users with any SAP related issues.
WHO YOU ARE:

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on SAP development experience
  • Extensive experience in ABAP development, with both custom development and customizations to existing processes, including use of HANA related technologies, IDOCs, ALE, RFC, BAPI, BADI,
  • ALV, LSMW, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, Reports, BDC and Enhancements
  • Experience with SAP Smart Forms, Adobe forms, including custom forms and enhancements to existing SAP forms, output methods, determinations, etc.
  • Experience developing and using Infosets, SQVI and SAP Query.
  • Experience writing SQL code in HANA
  • Experience with SAP partner applications and their integrations to SAP:

    • Vistex Pricing solution
    • Paymetric Credit Card Processing solution
    • EDI and Ecommerce Integrations
    • Winshuttle
    • SAP Security
  • Experience in full development life cycle - all areas and phases of the SDLC.
  • strong understanding of the SAP Sales and Distribution module and Vistex Pricing module
SAP APPLICATION AREAS

  • Good understanding of business process flows in MM, FI, AB and Credit and Collections Management (FSCM) areas, including master data setup, and standard SAP order to cash processes in a distribution environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to translate and communicate technical issues to a business level understanding.
