Jr Site Reliability Engineer

job summary:
Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project:

  • Design and develop products and major components of the SRE Process
  • Ensure our products scale and perform consistently and reliably.
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of SRE services-from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and system health.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Develop and Maintain effective dashboards using our instrumentation tools.
  • Review overall architecture and make/recommend changes in the code and in the infrastructure to improve the reliability and performance of our applications.
  • Tune our alerting to ensure that we know when there are anomalies while keeping a high signal to noise ratio.
  • Curate our monitoring so that we have actionable forensics when there are anomalies.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
  • Automation of service restarts and deployment validations
  • Build and monitor CI/CD components
  • Work with architects on cloud design
  • Performance, Load and Gremlin testing
  • Maintain risk management matrix and Security patch reviews
  • Captain incident response practice and lead incident management calls
  • Update run books
  • Plan and test disaster recovery
  • SRE principles require SLOs that can be measured and accounted for so that understanding of monitoring systems is necessary.
  • SREs should have a skill set that includes understanding system architecture and tune it to scale.
  • SREs are regularly on call, and requires sharp troubleshooting skills. They should be inquisitive and follow an analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Because SREs and developers share ownership of services and what customers experience, they need to have a good relationship skills.
  • Incident management - technically resolve problems and interact effectively with other stakeholders. Adept with explicit and clear communication, time and task management, and record keeping.
Resilience and flexibility, because SREs will need to provide the right balance between enabling product development and doing what's right for your customers.

Required Skills:

  • (Ansible, Splunk, Dynatrace, Gitlab, Git, Jfrog) - hands-on experience in building DevSecOps pipeline, configure Monitoring (Splunk, Dynatrace), not just installation.
  • Dashboarding and Regular Expression

  • Oracle Database & SQL
