job summary:
The Manager of Claims oversees the Claims team in the handling of all claims in accordance with legal and company guidelines. This position also manages team member performance and overall workflow. This is an exempt position in

the Claims department reporting to the Director of Claims.

DAILY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):

Work with the various parties on OS & related issues to minimize losses and make sure the correct procedure is followed in order to mitigate cargo claims

responsibilities:
  • Work with the various parties on OS&D related issues to minimize losses and make sure the correct procedure is followed in order to mitigate cargo claims
  • Provides appropriate directions to internal parties to communicate with carrier and/or customers regarding cargo claims
  • Provide tactical and strategic operational action plans for continued claims process improvement
  • Provide root cause analysis of top incidents and/or claims to identify opportunities and make informed recommendations for reducing claims that affect customers supply chains and increase Coyote financial exposure
  • Thoroughly examining claim documents for accuracy and in an investigative manner to be able to determine the likely faulty party and cause of loss
  • Develop effective persuasive communication in order to explain the merits of the claim as they pertain to CARMACK and/or contractual terms
  • Offering alternative options and solutions to resolve the issues that protect the interests of all parties
  • Makes recommendations to the financial settlements in order to limit Coyote's financial exposure
  • Develop, implement, and measure new claims initiatives
  • Customer Reporting on claims related issues as needed and directed
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need
