Other inputs

Looking for SR level talent

They do not need someone who is good at dashboarding (sounds like that is more of what they are seeing with prior submissions), they need someone more of an admin that is able to look at the setup of Splunk and then be able to say how the settings are supposed to be set up and how the tool is used.

Looking for someone who is open-minded (Being able to and willing to learn new tools)

Looking for someone who has experience with automation

Some scripting required

Must be able to work within a Linux/Unix

Per the client: The highest importance is with Splunk and they want someone with the skillsets of setting up using the tool not just a user. So it would be more of admin type knowledge and a high level Sr role who is seeing end to end with the application but also with a high level of customer service. Other tool experience is good but can be taught. The person needs to be open-minded and able to be flexible with new tools with their skillset. They also said automation experience is a key long term component they are looking for in this role. They are looking to have this role work with the Unix DevOps Engineer utilizing Ansible. Last thing mentioned was they wanted the candidate to "listen more than talk". By this, they said the previous candidates seemed to want to talk about more than just the answer to their question.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

· BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

· 7+ years of successful Enterprise IT Monitoring

· Experience operating monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, SCOM)

NOTE: client seeing candidates with strong with Tivoli and SCOM but not on other popular tools such as Solarwinds, LogicMonitor, Splunk, app monitoring such as Pingdom, 1000eyes...
