Firewall Engineer

job summary:
Reporting to the Director Cyber Security, the Firewall Engineer will monitor the information security environment identifying and responding to potential risks and if necessary mitigate those risks. In addition, this person is responsible for provisioning system access. You will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and be regarded as a subject matter expert. You will support Cloud initiatives by providing security recommendations and designing controls to protect IT assets in the Public cloud.

This person needs to be a firewall engineer expert willing to be flexible with their schedule.

Must have knowlledge in Cisco and Palo Alto, Panorama (Palo Alto product), and Certificate Management.

Additional skills:

  • Significant experience in the design and implementation of Security solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with
  • Host and Network DLP tools configuration and management
  • Designing security controls for Cloud Environments, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
  • Malware prevention tools, Antivirus solutions
  • Thorough understanding of
  • Network Protocols and Network Traffic Analysis
  • Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Proxies
  • PKI and HSMs
  • Ability to work with different teams on concurrent projects
  • Ability to document project requirements, define KPIs and produce reports showing project progress.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

responsibilities:
  • Design and implement security controls to ensure the continued protection of the enterprise
  • Serves as IT Security SME for business and IT Project and Initiatives
  • Support the vulnerability management program and remediation efforts
  • Perform threat analysis and modeling to ensure controls in place continue to provide the needed coverage for the enterprise
  • Support Cloud initiatives by providing security recommendations and designing controls to protect IT assets in the Public cloud
  • Perform Application security reviews for web and mobile applications
  • Design and support Identity and Access Management solutions for the enterprise
  • Key resource in CSIRT activities
  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

  • Experience level: Entry Level
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
