3D Artist II (UI/UX)

job summary:
This role will span responsibilities in the following areas: data capture, annotation, and analysis to support one large project involving 3D scan data. The person may also be asked to provide support on 3D meshing, topology, modeling with applications for face geometry.

responsibilities:
Gather research data with 3D scanners, images, and video from cell phones

Gather anthropometric measurements of research participants

Use 3D software (for example Meshlab or more advanced) for geometry validation and sometimes mesh reconstruction

Use Artec Studio or similar software for various scanners (EVA and Spider 3D) to compile and revise 3D scan data

Render images of scanned 3D spaces

Use 3D program to clean-up and process scan data

Landmark 3D geometry in specialized software

Research new beneficial hardware and software that could be implemented into the workflow process

Create and manage Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for data collection and data cleaning

Use Adobe Photoshop to create diagrams for technical reports and to perform image editing to collected research data

Use 3D programs for organic & hard-surface modeling of prototype hardware.

Use 3D modeling programs for projecting surface details between multiple 3D meshes, as well as for data collection

Scanning prototype objects and objects intended for use by others for 3D printing

Routine inventory checklist and maintenance on research study equipment

Project planning with researchers for any newly desired changes in the research study workflow process

Possible technical write-ups or presentations to the other researchers involving any of the research study procedures handled in 3D

Create scripts to help expedite production and analysis pipeline
