Our Client has an immediate need for a Technical Writer. This is an on-site position for a several month contract. A background including XML based documentation is important in this role. CBRNE and/or handheld sensor experience is a major plus. Additionally you should have 3 or more years of experience managing content across multiple product lines.

responsibilities:
As a technical writer for our Client's Detection Division, you will support our mission of saving lives and livelihood by bringing your technical writing skill to bear on our portfolio of chemical, biological, nuclear/radiological and explosive (CBRNE) detection solutions. Working as a member of the product management team, your role will serve to write and maintain technical documentation, assist in writing service bulletins, and product application notes. You will be primarily responsible for developing, keeping, and maintaining the content management system for Detection.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or English (or equivalent)
  • Background or knowledge of XML-based publishing experience
  • 5 or more years of applicable experience in technical writing for products, with preference given to those with specific CBRNE and/or handheld sensor experience
  • 3 or more years of experience managing content across multiple product lines
  • Proven capability to champion a process from development to launch
  • High energy, direct professional that is proactive with leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively verbally communicate and interact with customers, team members, and corporatemanagement in a positive manner
  • Ability to quickly reorient with new information and direction and build consensus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe CC applications
  • Export Compliance experience
  • MAD CAP Flare experience
  • Microsoft Word skills
Nice to have skills:

  • Familiarity with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Explosives Detection Equipment
  • Experience with MADCAP FLARE and MADCAP or XTM Translation services is preferred
