Site Reliability Engineer

DESCRIPTION

  • By promoting new ways of building software, you'll optimizing products and keep our client experience improving at pace.
  • Your work as Reliability Engineer will not only give you true ownership of your products as you capitalize on a Lean Agile approach.
  • The SRE fuses aspects of software engineering and applies it to IT Operations issues which results in a scalable and highly reliable application (s).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to postmortem the unexpected incidents to solve future hazards
  • Skilled in evaluating new possibilities and capacity planning aptitudes
  • Comfortable with handling operations, monitoring, and alerting
  • Knowledge and experience in building processes and automation to support other teams
  • Continually improving the monitoring, alerting, and automation to increase environment reliability, availability, performance, performance, and overall system health.
  • Champion the best Monitoring setup/Control Reporting.
  • Create/update procedures for enterprise-wide adoption experiments, recommend new tools where need
  • Identify process gap and implement process improvement to increase operational efficiency
  • Work with different groups to develop and improve monitors for products and infrastructure, collaborate and lead both within the teams
  • Modernizing the environment tools and technologies to support IT strategic goals of continues delivery and cloud migration.
  • Automating and implementing the build and maintenance of the environments for applications.
  • Participates in governance team discussion and provides a strong voice on critical decisions
  • Establish relationships with Senior IT and Business Leader for the purpose of advancing proposed applications architecture solutions
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Extensive experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban, Safe) lean, extreme programming (xp)
  • Desired technologies: Angular JS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, REST- Based web services, Linux, AWS
  • Working knowledge in site reliability engineering (SRE), concepts and monitoring tool, Splunk, AppsDynamics
  • Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence). Git, Maven, Jenkins, Selenium, Nexus, Artifactory
  • Understanding of key monitoring concepts (4 Golden Signals, RED, USE)
  • Java development experience preferred
AGILE/DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in Agile development
  • Understanding the relationship with product owner scrum master and rest of the technical team
  • Experience with a variety of technical skills
