Technical Documentation Specialist

job summary:
We are looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include implementing stylesheets written for Arbortext's Advanced Print Publisher (APP). You will work with designers and subject matter experts to build stylesheets conforming to requirements. You will also be bridging the gap between the authors and designers transforming content into design through your stylesheets.

Responsibilities

- Develop new templates for instructions for use (IFUs) and other layouts as required

- Build reusable code and libraries for future use

- Ensure the technical feasibility of template designs

- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders as needed

Skills and Qualifications

- Experience with Arbortext Advanced Print Publisher (APP)

- strong understanding of JavaScript, Javascript APIs, and template-driven design

- An understanding of structured authoring (DITA/XML), and/or web markup (HTML5 and CSS)

- Experience with Content management systems, and/or code versioning tools, such as Git

- Ideally, experience within Medical or other regulated industry

- Some experience with Adobe software (esp. InDesign) is helpful for communicating with existing designers
