Technical Analyst

job summary:
Our client is looking for a Technical Analyst for a 1 year contract in Sacramento, Ca.

Ability to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, and be available during off duty periods for on call support.

Function A Title: VOCERA, RFID, SECURE TEXT, CARD ACCESS, SURVEILLANCE, TELESITTER, PHYSICAL PATIENT SECURITY, PATIENT ED, VISITOR MANAGEMENT & NURSE CALL TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

Duties:

- Review and analyzes all incoming trouble tickets and services requests to ensure timely communication and resolution of issues and assess that existing technology will meet customer's needs.

- Plan for system expansions/upgrades. Develop timelines/plans for software installations, programming and training.

- Coordinates with all customers during both scheduled and unscheduled downtimes/outages, systems upgrades, etc. and work closely with the IT Operations Center to ensure communications are distributed to the customer base.

- Contact appropriate agency to report problems with equipment and track status of reported problems.

- Access Request Processing (IS Access Request Process)

- Report Generation (Maintenance and On Demand)

- Perform ongoing technical assessments related to these technologies

- Perform system administration functions including configuration, maintenance and upgrades.

- Interacts with customers, vendors, technical teams and management regarding ongoing support, maintenance and technology changes.

- Provide analytical support to research, evaluate, develop operational methods, promote and implement systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of departmental practices

- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, improvement plans, process flows, communication plans and documents, requirements documentation and engaging, informational well organized presentations.

- Provide analytical assistance to project coordinators and task group members as required

- Promptly assist customers with equipment and related software problems and questions

- Notify appropriate personnel when established standards or guidelines are violated

- Conduct user polls, questionnaires and other information gathering activities

Function B Title: INVENTORY, DEVICE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT FOR VOCERA & RFID DEVICES & PAGERS

Duties:

- Receive equipment from distributor

- Maintain equipment inventory in required applications and update when equipment is out for maintenance or repairs.

- Manages inventory to assure adequate levels of spare equipment is available at all times and order new equipment as needed. Routine inventory reconciliation required per policy and procedures.

- Device Repair (Troubleshoot, Configuration, Test, Replacement) of Vocera badges, RFID Tags, pagers and accessories.

- Deploy equipment to departments and individual staff member and provide any training that may be required.

- Package, return and track defective equipment for replacement and/or repairs.

- Train Staff on equipment and related software training

- Train staff and develop training materials and other materials support use of equipment

- Analyze report and track trends with equipment problem.

- Analyze and reconcile vendor reports to ensure accurate billing for equipment and services

Function C Title: PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Duties:

- Manage projects utilizing automated and manual processes. Responsible for projects with significant and sometimes critical importance to UCDHS patient care and administrative support

- Participate in meetings with University administrators, department and division staff to resolve operational and other issues pertaining to UCDHS"s mission

- Advise project coordinators, departmental staff and group members of project status.

- Lead and direct project team members to successfully implement and complete projects

Duties:

- Test new equipment, features and software upgrades.

- Development of technical assessments, RFPs and RFQs as required.

- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies in paging and wireless communications.

- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change or at minimum evaluative of new technologies.

- Excellent organizational skills to determine workload priorities and to enable timely completion of tasks. Ability to work effectively and independently under pressure with a minimum of direction.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to express ideas assertively, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with others to secure necessary information and cooperation from a variety of people.

- Extensive Experience troubleshooting and configuring wired and wireless communication equipment and related computer equipment, including application and operating systems software.

- Understands how to communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully to the customer base.

- General understanding of pagers, RFID and other wireless communication devices.

- Experienced working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving.

- Ability to set priorities, organize work to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines. Ability to multi-task.

- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, customers and other departments.

- strong written and oral communication skills.

- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.

- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
