Test Automation Engineer

job summary:
Work as a scrum team member to develop automated tests for application features and to contribute to application feature development as needed by the team with remaining capacity. Collaborate with team members to interpret test plans, tests, and acceptance criteria to automate manual tests in an Agile working environment. Collaborate with scrum team members to further enhance the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery system to ensure high quality software delivery. Understand Quality Assurance methodology designed to ensure compliance with system and risk/compliance specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Participate in ongoing continuous improvement with QA leader and peers to evolve the QA and Test Automation practice and its effectiveness.

* Collaborate with scrum team to identify, define, refine, and estimate user stories and acceptance criteria specific enough to verify using automated tests.

* Develop automated component/integration/end-to-end tests using SpecFlow, .NET C#, MSSQL, and helper technologies like Selenium/Protractor/Appium when needed.

* Develop automated system tests-load, performance, security-using JMeter and similar technologies as needed.

* Perform manual testing as necessary with your scrum team when test automation is not feasible.

* Contribute toward application development of new features as needed by scrum team when capacity allows.

* Maintain current software development and quality assurance knowledge and skills to deliver high quality automated tests and application feature software.

Education, Experience, Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in directly related field required.

* 2+ years of Quality Assurance and Testing experience, including test planning and complicated test execution.

* Demonstrated knowledge in software development and/or test automation development using C# or similar language. FYI - a foundational C# coding challenge is part of the interview process.

* Knowledge of development tools, structure analysis, technical design techniques, and database and file access methods.

* Familiar with the software development life cycle, including source code control and deployment systems.

* Excellent written and verbal skills.

* Ability to multitask in fast paced environment
