Location: Dallas, TX

Position:

Well recognized , high volume international forwarder, has an opportunity in Dallas for an Import Manager. This position will manage all Import and Custom House Brokerage activities of the branch including transportation set-ups, and entry writing as well as Compliance. Additionally this role will be responsible for arranging all modes of freight for client importers.

Responsibilities:

Managing a team dedicated to Imports for all global origin points, the Import Manager will be in charge of all daily operational activities ensuring client satisfaction is successfully achieved to maximize profits. You will identify key market opportunities and maintain business strategies as well as develop and implement special projects and ensure compliance quality systems are implemented and maintained. Additionally, this role will oversee branch process flows in conformance with applicate procedures and company policies. Developing internal SOP's and KPI's for the effective management of inbound freight will be a core competency of this role. Accuracy of invoices, house airway bills, foreign currency conversions, and the achievement of key performance indicators will be key to your success. You will also have a budget responsibility and will be responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff as well as assigning work, setting due dates, reviewing work, and managing performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and performance management processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts involving the importation of products from abroad. An advanced understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Generally understands basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action. Requires a Associate's or Bachelor's degree and 8 - 10 years + of experience working in the Import Division of a global forwarding company.
