Vendor Issues Manager

job summary:

Position background - What does this position accomplish for the business?

Position mitigates and reduces risk for the organization - specifically data security risks. Working hand in hand with other departments we address and work to remediate Vendors' security deficiencies to ensure contract and industry compliance.

Position overview - What will the candidate be working on while on assignment?

The candidate will be working with other team members to address and resolve a multitude of situations where a contracted vendor needs to comply and address our security requirements. The person will work with team members, Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement (ES&P), Enterprise Information Security (EIS), vendors and a host of enterprise/cross segment wide contacts who are a part of the vendor relationship and delivery process.

Please describe the team the candidate will be working with:

The candidate will be working within the Risk Operations/Data Risk Management team which is a part of Service Operations and rolls up within Enabling Services/Optum Operations. The specific team is an operationally focused group targeting the need to reduce risk (data security) and improve our cost position with vendors. The DRM group is the team the candidate will work most with and focus efforts on risk mitigation/issue remediation.

responsibilities:

Specific Duties:

1. Vendor Issue Management/aged inventory reduction

2. Update eGRC ICR (Internal Communication Requests) provide status reports

3. Coordinate and facilitate meetings with Vendor Relationship Owners (VRO)

4. Participate in team and matrix partner meetings

5. Communicate progress with team, matrix partners and manager

What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities?

Microsoft Suite familiarity. Specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and maybe PowerPoint. A plus but not required is familiarity with system referred to as Archer. It's used for managing policies and procedures and vendor management.

Must have qualifications/experience:

1. Microsoft proficient (Outlook, Excel, Word, limited PowerPoint)/Computer Literate

2. Strong communication skills - Verbal and Written

3. Strong time management/organization skills

4. Operations or Vendor Management Experience

5. Familiarity with Archer/EGRC nice, but not necessary.

What skills/attributes are nice to have, and will set a candidate apart?

Time management, operational background, communication (verbal and written), comfort working with executives Director level and above. Experience working with vendors and/or data security a plus but not necessary.

How will performance be measured?

Performance will be measured quantitatively by the number of issues addressed and resolved, the quality of resolution and reduction in aged issues. Behavior wise, positive team work, customer relations and collaboration will be important
