Benefits Administrator

job summary:
Summary

Benefit administration specializing in the delivery of employee benefits and retirement plans. Responsible for conducting enrollment meetings and administering COBRA. Answers employees' questions and records employee enrollment in benefit programs. Workers' compensation management of policies and claims. Monitoring and responding to Unemployment claims. Set up and maintenance of client Paid Time Off plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sets up and maintains client and PEO benefit plans in PEO software. Distributes information on and explains benefits programs such as retirement, pension, health, life, disability, and workers' compensation plans to clients, employees, and dependents.
  • Reviews reports from plan providers to verify accuracy and resolve differences.
  • Investigates and resolves questions regarding collection and payment of benefit premiums by contacting benefit plan providers, clients, and employees.
  • Verifies that benefits enrollment forms are complete and enters benefits-related data into computerized human resources information system.
  • Maintains files of enrollment forms and other documentation.
  • Sends enrollment information or terminations, and payment to benefit plan providers and other plan administrators.
  • Calculates amount of employees' paycheck deductions for benefits, sets up payroll deductions, client billing, and resolves discrepancies.
  • Produces reports of benefit enrollment, benefit deductions, and plan participation.
  • Administers COBRA and produces necessary correspondence to former employees.
  • Workers' compensation policies are obtained for client companies, using approved brokers resources. Maintenance and set up of policies in PEO software. Claims administration when needed.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and monitor quarterly charges.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

qualifications:
Must haves:

  • 3+ years of directly related experience with the above stated duties
  • Excel skills
  • Ability to Multi-Task
  • Excellent communication Skills
