Accounts Payable Supervisor

Global Internet Company in San Jose is hiring for an hands-on AP Supervisor. This person will be responsible for managing a high volume Accounts Payable department and a staff of 3. For more detail, please apply to posting directly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise Accounts Payable team; manage performance; responsible for hiring, training, discipline, and related duties
  • Supervise accounts payable processes accurately and timely
  • Cross Train with accounts payable team to cover the early shift with east coast bank; provide backup coverage when team is out of the office
  • Communicate tactfully with vendors and office personnel regarding accounts payable matters
  • Help develop, maintain, and execute accounts payable policies and procedures, including internal controls
  • Execute the Accounts Payable processes, including accrual journal entries and account reconciliations, in accordance with departmental deadlines and monthly closing schedule
  • Review and approve invoices for both correct general ledger coding and accurate payment amounts
  • Supervise and execute timely check runs
  • Set up new vendors and maintain vendor files
  • Supervise the timely pulling of invoices/documentation requested by auditors and ad hoc request
  • Keep managers fully informed of all issues requiring their attention
  • Support the year-end Form 1099 processing
Qualifications:

  • Associates' degree in Accounting/Finance/ Business Administration and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years' of progressive accounts payable experience
  • 2+ years' supervisory experience
  • Prior experience with Great Plains accounting software
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Able to work first shift hours; Monday - Friday (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
