Middle Office Analyst

job summary:
Randstad Professionals is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to support a Derivative Clearing Cash and Collateral Management team across futures, options and cleared swaps. This consultant will be responsible for collateral entries in the cash management system ensuring all margin calls are met each day.

responsibilities:
Job Duties Include:

  • Responsible for reporting daily cash balances and collateral positions.
  • Responsible for reconciling and monitoring all cash and collateral breaks/exceptions between internal systems and external custodians.
  • Forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions in payment and settlement systems.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements in the cash management systems to optimize efficiencies.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting/regulatory procedures and processes are followed.
  • Manage relationships with financial service providers.
  • Responsible for maintaining and documenting standard operating procedures for the cash and collateral management team.
  • Responsible for setting up metrics and reporting structure for team performance.
  • Monitor bank service fees.
  • Perform system testings for enhancements and ensure that all business requirements are met.
 
qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Operations or Finance departments of an Investment Bank.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
  • Working knowledge of GMI
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
  • Futures and OTC products experience is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in preparing cash/collateral forecasts and cash flow analyses.
  • Experience in the preparation and maintaining of financial schedules of an FCM in line with CFTC and CME regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Experience in managing complex cash and collateral functions within an FCM.
  • Experience in presenting and preparing proposals to recommend new processes/services that optimize house and client assets.
  • Knowledge of investment portfolio strategy, banking and financial instruments.
  • General knowledge of GAAP and CFTC/CME reporting requirements for investments and other financial instruments.
  • Knowledge of cash and collateral management software expertise a plus.
  • Advanced analytical, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft spreadsheet and modeling skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to a rational and well thought out conclusions.
