Job Summary

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing the organization's payroll for U.S. and international employees. They will review the accuracy of the payroll data, researching and resolving issues as necessary and ensuring the proper funds, departments and accounts are charged. Additionally, the Payroll Administrator will work closely with the Human Resources department and interact with every employee paid through the US.



Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of U.S. and international payrolls.
  • Assist in the processing of payroll via data entry and/or as the liaison for additional employee earnings.
  • Assist in the preparation of management and government agency reporting.
  • Generate, distribute and review various quality control reports to help prevent errors and eliminate discrepancies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders. Research and solve payroll related questions, issues and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to staff on payroll policies and procedures, and work with the Accounting Manager to resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Prepare payroll for interface with General Ledger as well as preparing necessary journal entries.
  • Audit ADP and time and attendance system database reports for each payroll cycle.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and general ledger accounts by auditing information, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and initiating journal entries to ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, and other obligations, as well as Pathfinder policies and procedures.
  • Review current payroll policies and practices to identify potential improvements and enhancements.
  • Performs various administrative tasks including completing wage/employment verifications, assisting with subpoenas, maintaining garnishment system, and handling any special circumstances.
  • Assist HR regarding employee on-boarding/off-boarding and benefits.
  • Assist in the review and issuance of year end W-2's.
  • Train the organization on the use of the TimeSheet system.
  • Participate in ad-hoc requests/projects.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 4 years of payroll and general ledger accounting experience, preferably with an international organization.
  • Experience with time and attendance system and (ADP) automated payroll processing service.
  • Ability to leverage technology to achieve operational efficiencies and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and customer service skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to consistently perform tasks independently with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Professional integrity, honesty, initiative, and dependability.


Qualifications

  • Payroll and accounting experience in a multi-site/international organization.
  • Non-profit and international development experience.
  • Serenic / Microsoft Dynamics experience.
