Paralegal - Assistance with Dissolution Process
The paralegal would work with the Private Investments Group to assist on the dissolutions of legal entities for the private equity business, with 83 entities slated for dissolution this year. We are looking for a seasoned paralegal to work on the full spectrum of the dissolution process, from obtaining internal and external approvals for each of the dissolutions, researching the entities, locating documentation, interfacing with state regulators, drafting internal approval documentation and drafting dissolution filing papers. The person should have good inter-personal skills, being able to work with business people, internal and external counsel and state regulators. The person should also have good organizational skills, good drafting skills and be a self-starter.
Provides support to attorneys. Under the direction of an attorney, resolves routine legal issues. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to an attorney.
