Chargeback Analyst - Richmond, VA

  • This is a contract role that is expected to convert to a permanent position.
  • This role is heavy analytical because they are dealing with large sets of data. The chargeback data is from the Medical & Surgical div and the Pharma division.
Chargeback Analyst - Job Duties:

  • Responsible for all accounting/close activities related to chargebacks, including but not limited to the calculation of, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations of chargebacks and related reserves.
  • Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of chargebacks data in a large, complex environment with multiple data sources and systems.
  • Collaborate with various internal business partners, including Contract Administration, Category Management, IT and Finance to uphold financial integrity as it relates to chargebacks.
  • Act as the accounting/financial advisor to the business by deriving meaningful information and knowledge through analytics to provide decision support and guidance.
  • Prepare, present and report monthly financial chargeback performance to internal business partners, including management.
  • Engage in and assist accounting supervisor on various projects and initiatives, with a focus on system integrations.
Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience of GAAP accounting
  • 2+ years experience requiring analysis, reporting financial results, and data interpretation of business impact and results
  • 2+ years experience working cross functionally
  • 2+ years' experience with Excel advanced functions (macros, index, pivots, lookups)
  • 5+ years accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience
Compensation: $31.00-$34.00/hr

qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

5+ years accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience

Critical Skills

  • 2+ years experience of GAAP accounting
  • 2+ years experience requiring analysis, reporting financial results, and data interpretation of business impact and results
  • 2+ years experience working cross functionally
  • 2+ years' experience with Excel advanced functions (macros, index, pivots, lookups)




Preferred Additional Knowledge & Skills









  • Revenue/allowance accounting work highly preferred
  • Advanced financial analytical skills with an aptitude for systems
  • Strong SQL skills (ability to create queries to data-mine and do analysis) highly preferred
  • Experience using JD Edwards or similar large accounting package such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.
  • CPA/MBA preferred
  • Preference for manufacturing or distribution accounting experience
  • Willing to dive deep to work through complex issues and deliver solutions
  • Ability to understand underlying business processes and complex system interactions to determine accounting impacts and financial decisions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement while dealing with data ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented
