  • This is a contract role expected to last 4 months
Proofreader - Job Duties:

  • Read and evaluate written text for grammatical and typographical error.
  • Liaise with writers to determine the composition of specific texts in a document.
  • Compare typeset proofs against original copy to identify errors or omission.
  • Must have working knowledge of Word, PPT and Adobe Pro in order to edit documents.
  • Check layout documents to ensure the designer has used the proper font style, size, and text spacing, etc.
  • Check images, tables, and charts contained in a document to ensure they are precise and properly aligned.
  • Verifying accuracy of page numbers (in the right order and not repeated or omitted), headings, and captions, as well as consistency of spelling and grammar.
  • Analyze documents to ensure chapter titles match table of contents
  • Mark corrections highlighted by editors/authors and ensure they reflect in each draft.
  • Suggest rephrased written text to ensure document structure and content are consistent.
  • Work directly with individual team members to clarify grammatical inconsistencies related to style and text choice.
  • Ensure project is completed within set time constraints.
  • Track time per project so that it can be billed back to the appropriate client.
Job Requirements:

  • Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
  • Good people skills.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience proofreading or editing written content and layout designs
  • Must be proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • AP Style background a plus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to set daily priorities based on project schedules.
  • Flexibility is the key to supporting this team as there could be several last minute requests.
Compensation: $20.00-$22.08/hr

responsibilities:
Job Overview:

- The C&CM team is looking for an individual to support us through the busy season (August through October).

- This person must have the ability to read and understand benefit communication content and remember that benefit plans for each client do vary. While the content will look similar from client to client, a great attention to detail is needed so we do not make incorrect edits.

- The individual would be considered an inter-departmental collaborator and must work well under multiple deadlines.

- Typical hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (ET). There are some occasions when late hours will be necessary due to client deadlines, but the C&CM team member would work with the individual to set expectations.

- Due to the nature of the work, we cannot guarantee 40 hours each week, but would work with the individual to find possible assignments with other C&CM offices (e.g., Denver, Dallas, etc.).

- The individual can work from home or from the WTW Atlanta office.

- WTW would provide a laptop with Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Pro to support the work.
