Software Operations Support

job summary:
Software Quality Operations Associate II

Waymo, Self-Driving Car Project, is seeking candidates for its Software Quality Operations scenario team. Waymo aims to improve people's lives by transforming mobility and making it easier and safer for everyone to get around, regardless of their ability to drive. So far, we've self-driven over 7 million miles, mostly on city streets, along with billions of simulated miles. Today, Waymo is the only self-driving company with fully driverless cars on the road, serving customers.

As an operator on Waymo's Software Quality Operations team, you will be a part of a small subteam which supports the creation and review of simulated scenario tests. These scenario tests are difficult driving situations which aim to stress-test the self-driving software, often using other testing data as motivating examples. You will be responsible for ensuring the validity, realism, and robustness of the scenario tests that you create from scratch.

A great candidate for this position has excellent computer skills, high attention to detail, and a strong ability to think creatively. Preference for candidates in STEM fields. New team members will be given extensive training on our internal tools and workflows upon hiring. No software development or programming experience desired. He or she is expected to keep all project details confidential.

Responsibilities:

Create simulated test scenarios using a custom in-house tool

Review and report on the performance of the self driving software

Provide data and feedback directly to developers

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
