  • This is a contract role expected to last 3 months.
Human Resource Manager- Job Duties:

  • Manage and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes 500+ employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Work closely with Corporate Accounting and Stock Administrator on settling certain equity transactions including cash settlements and payroll taxes
  • Partner with HR & Benefits on alignment of roles and responsibilities over recently implemented system
  • Audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines, and compliance with all internal Policies and Procedures and internal controls.
  • Manage payroll process service provider to ensure all aspects of the service level agreements are met
  • Manage and serve as subject matter expert for all payroll-related systems, including ownership of ADP and international affiliated payroll systems, timekeeping system, and unemployment filings, to include enhancements, changes, and upgrades
Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience managing a multi-state payroll department, with minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of ADP
  • Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulatory and financial requirements at the federal, state and local level
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, as well as payroll and government reporting procedures, including knowledge of garnishment, levy and child support processing.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and oral communication skills, including strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities

Maintains knowledge of existing and new payroll related legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.

Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee data; ensuring all payroll information, files and records are maintained in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Assist in the completion of internal and external payroll tax and accounting audits

Manage junior payroll accountant

Act as primary liaison with hourly and salaried personnel on payroll inquiries and issue resolution

Communicate and actively partner with HR to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing

 
qualifications:
Qualifications:

10+ years experience managing a multi-state payroll department, with minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience

Extensive knowledge of ADP

Qualifications Preferred:

Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred.

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field preferred

Experience with the management of an outsourced payroll service

Equity stock administration experience preferred (Equity Edge)
