Corporate Accounting Manager

job summary:
The Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee all areas of Corporate Accounting. This includes the production of monthly consolidated financial statements incompliance with US GAAP Standards. The Corporate Accounting Manager will act as a business partner on day-to-day accounting operational matters. The Corporate Accounting Manager will be seen as a key point of contact for operational accounting and related activities.

responsibilities:
  • The Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting operations internal, control systems and policies and procedures.
  • The Corporate Accounting Manager will manage and review the month-end closing and financial reporting process
  • The Corporate Accounting Manager will perform Quarterly/Annual financial reporting
  • Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled monthly and quarterly as appropriate
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Implement internal management reporting including and interface with external parties (auditors, tax, legal, printers, etc)
  • Communicate with department line managers to gain full understanding monthly variances
  • Investigate significant changes in monthly/quarterly/annual fluctuations and budget to actuals
  • Prepare commentaries explaining variances to prior months, prior year, budget, and Wall Street guidance
  • Participate in strategic projects to improve profitability and efficiency of the company
  • Provide analytical tools and reports to support decision making
  • Oversee the accounting staff with the daily operational departmental functions
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA is a must. MBA is a plus
  • Public Accounting experience in a must (Big 4 needed)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • 7-years plus experience working for a in a mid/large-sized company in a similar role
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of corporate accounting/financial reporting/external reporting experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong Excel and must possess strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, able to prioritize
  • Experience in developing and fostering a team environment
  • SAP experience is a plus
