Senior Financial Analyst

job summary:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for the initiation of detailed financial analysis. This position interprets detailed cost and accounting information and makes recommendations regarding the efficient utilization of resources. This is accomplished through a comprehensive analysis to identify problems, recommend solutions and drive implementation of improved practices, and policies. The Analyst also exercises discretion and creativity as to work details on assignments of a varied and diverse nature.

responsibilities:
What You Will Do

  • Challenges the status quo by enhancing the system and recommending modification to existing processes and methodologies with a constant focus on continuous improvement.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages and analysis
  • Assist Finance Director in the preparation of the annual budget & quarterly forecast; analyze trends and/or variances in expense, capital expenditures and other related areas.
  • Conduct monthly & quarterly budget meetings with department heads.
  • Prepare & analyze monthly expenditures incurred against plan and forecasts and provide recommendations on how to control or reduce spending.
  • Prepares financial and business related analysis and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, inventory control and investments.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and business metrics development.
  • Develop concepts and models for general improvement.
  • Recommends and develops strategies related to inventory management
  • Researches root causes of inventory discrepancies by extraction data from SyteLine and IFS, and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Performs extensive analysis of inventory transactions and reports to identify, process, system and training deficiencies.
  • Understands and demonstrates the 6 core behavioral expectations: Communicative, Motivated, Responsible, Dependable, Inquisitive, and Accountability.
  • Ad hoc analysis as required.

qualifications:
What You Will Bring

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 7 years financial analysis experience required; manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an ERP system (Syteline/Oracle)
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Advanced level communication skills; oral and written.
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience in a financial capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner.
  • Demonstrated team building capabilities; excellent customer services skills building effective cross-functional partnerships.
