Accounting Analyst

job summary:
Financial Accountant needed for very stable and growing company located in Boca Raton. This position will interact with multiple departments and be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements and debt convenant compliance requirements.

responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of audited financial statements and footnote schedules, and analysis of trends and fluctuations from period to period and overall all financial accounting analysis.

Collaborate closely with other accounting departments, and other business units

Collaborate on ad-hoc or recurring project teams to prepare various analysis for enhancement of the business

Analyze to see patterns of weakness or exposure to error, diagnose the issues, design and implement process improvements to address

weaknesses or other opportunities

Prepares monthly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement and statement of cash flows and other packages for investors, lenders and management

Prepares monthly KPI schedules and analytics for month-end investor package

Stay current on new/proposed accounting guidance and best practices, including GAAP and IFRS; assess the impact of relevant guidance on the Company's accounting and financial statement footnote disclosures and recommend changes to Senior Manager/CFO

Provide technical accounting support to the accounting team on the treatment of accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards and compliance with GAAP/IFRS

Develop/implement internal controls framework; coordinate testing of internal controls with external auditors

Liaise with external auditors throughout the review and audit procedures

Collaborate closely with other Company departments

 
qualifications:
Must have a 4 year college degree in Accounting or Audit

At least 4-5 years total work experience in related field

Strong working knowledge of financial accounting and treasury

Strong working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting practices

Strong working knowledge of: Excel, Pivot Tables, Word, PowerPoint

Prefer experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and Management Reporter reporting software or similar (Dynamics GP, etc.)

Business intelligence solutions - data warehouse, cubes, software

Ability to identify "what matters" or makes a difference

Team-oriented, and self-motivated, inquisitive

Possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to summarize and present financial data in an organized, concise manner
