Marketing Specialist

job summary:
At its core, marketing here starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways.

Our job is to demonstrate how our products solve the world's problems--from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that is changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.

  • You will be a key part of building out our new Behavioral Science Team, an increasingly important driver of growth for the company across all products from Search and AdWords to Chrome, Android, YouTube and emerging businesses.
  • As a behavioral scientist within Marketing, you will be a fully dedicated business leader and strategic thinker, shaping the future of one of our many consumer and business products.
  • Using your background in behavioral science and experimental research methods, you will inform decisions about how we design our marketing efforts and how we develop product features and the overall user experience.
Additional Role Description:

  • The Growth Lab team is a team with high executive visibility and the opportunity to work across functions and product areas
  • Our goal is to get more users to use more apps, more often and on more devices and we provide insights, best practices, tools, and services to help product and marketing teams achieve that.
  • In helping to build out the behavioral science function within Growth Lab, you'll join a team of experienced growth experts.
  • This is a highly collaborative role and you'll develop ongoing relationships with teams to help build sustainable, long-term growth. It is a great position if you are interested in measurable impact, weekly experiments and release cycles
Top Daily Responsibilities:

  • Use behavioral science insights to help drive millions of users to acquire products.
  • Get them engaged with the product, help them create successful advertising campaigns, and ensure they are retained as customers.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to determine the most impactful marketing and in-product design strategies.
  • Provide behavioral science consultation to product and marketing teams.
  • Evangelize behavioral science methods more broadly across the company and generalize learnings into a framework that can help bring behavioral science to scale.
Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of project management and design experience applying behavioral science insights and experimental research methods to real-world challenges at scale, either in consulting, policy, or research academia.
  • Leadership and/or entrepreneurial experience that demonstrates candidate is comfortable building things from scratch and thriving in dynamic, fluid, and fast-paced environments.
  • Distinctive problem solving, analytic skills and sound business judgment.
  • A knack for building collaborative partnerships with product and engineering teams.
  • Strong ability to effectively influence and communicate across all levels of management, and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
