Staff Accountant

job summary:
We are searching for a motivated team player to join our client, a growing government contractor, in Loudoun County as a Staff Accountant. This is a temporary to hire position, the client is intent on finding the right long-term fit for this small but dynamic Accounting team. What will you be doing?

  • This is a transactional accounting type of role, with your hands in the day to day accounting operations
  • You'll post cash and enter cash receipts
  • You'll support accounts payable, reviewing and entering invoice data, handling the EFT process
  • You'll support the employee expense report process, reconciling corporate credit cards, etc.
  • You'll get exposure to the billing and invoicing process, entering subcontractor invoice data
  • You'll work on montly reporting, working with Program Managers to support program control activities
What experience should you have?

  • This is an ideal position to grow, to take what you have and learn new aspects of accounting
  • You'll need to be detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have prior experience working in a small government contract setting in Accounting
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, can work with different departments as a partner
  • Must have experience with a typical government contracting ERP such as Costpoint, NAV, GCS or JAMIS along with strong Excel
  • An Associates or Bachelors is a nice to have, but not required. Experience and fit are most important.
